Tuition
Tuition
is paid in advance for lessons. Monthly tuition will be the same amount
whether there are three, four or five lessons in the month. Our tuition
is based on an average of lessons received within the calendar year.
Missed lessons will not be deducted from the tuition. If you terminate
enrollment during months with three lessons no makeup or refund will be
given for fourth lesson. If you terminate lessons during months with
five lessons you are not charged for an extra lesson.
Tardy arrival
Students
arriving late will not have their lesson time extended. Students
arriving late by more than half of their lesson period will be
considered absent, and their instructor will be dismissed.
Make-up lessons
A
24 HOUR ADVANCED NOTICE (prior to your regularly scheduled lesson time)
must be given in order to receive a make-up. No make-ups will be given
for missed make-up or rescheduled lessons . One make-up lesson per
semester; Fall, Aug-Dec, Spring Jan-May, and Summer June-July will be
permitted.
It
is our policy that no additional make-up lessons will be given. Missed
lessons are non refundable and non transferable between family members,
spouse, students, etc.
Withdrawal
If a student wishes to discontinue study,
a thirty day written notice is required. Notice will take effect
on the first calendar day of the upcoming month. Tuition must be paid the month of notice, and the upcoming month. Example;if you give notice in September your thirty day starts at the beginning of November. If
thirty day notice is not received, your account will automatically be
billed for tuition to cover the thirty day period. Ask your teacher or
the office for a withdraw form.
Telephone calls, emails, or simply telling your teacher does not constitute a written notice.

Scheduling
Once a lesson time is established, it is important that we maintain his or her lesson time.
One schedule change per semester; Fall, Aug-Dec, Spring Jan-May,
and Summer June-July will be permitted at no additional charge. After
the first change(per semester) a 20.00 fee per submittal form
will incur.
A change of schedule form (ask teacher or office) must
be submitted one week prior to any permanent change. This does not
guarantee a time or day will be available (discuss with teacher).
Instructor missed lesson-substitute
Due to unexpected circumstance, your instructor may be absent.
The
studio reserves the right to provide a qualified substitute for
lessons missed. Schaelling Studios reserves the right to (under special
circumstances) replace current instructor with a new qualified
instructor.
Inclement weather
We will follow the LISD official weather closing schedule.
Students will be invited for special make-ups which could include private or group lessons.
Parent observation
Parents
are welcome to sit in and observe student lessons. Make sure your
family member makes it to their lesson and the teacher is present.
Do
not drop your child off in the parking lot or leave them unattended in
the waiting room. We are music teachers, we are not responsible for
your child.
Waiting room policies
It
is expected that everyone wait quietly. Do not disturb ongoing lessons.
Please do not drop off students more than five minutes prior to lesson
time and pick them up promptly.
No
food, drink or roughhousing is permitted. Parents are permitted
beverages while in the waiting area-children are permitted bottled
water or water from the water cooler.
Policy changes
Schaelling Studios has the right to change policies, fees, or waivers with proper thirty day notice.
